Transitional - Riparian to Dry
Look for two different flowering plants.

April - May: Germander (Teucrium laciniatum) The flowers are scattered, somewhat funnel-shaped, greenish-white with pink or purple veins. This perennial has many square, straight stems that are branched at the base. They form clumps as they grow in colonies.

June - September: Spike verbena (Verbena macdougalii) This native perennial has oblong, veiny, serrated, hairy leaves arranged oppositely on its hairy, ridged stems. Very dense, narrow, upright spikes of small purple to lilac flowers appear on the upper stem ends.
