Description This native plant has very hairy stems and leaves. The stems vary in length and the leaves are narrow. It’s common in sandy soils.
Mature Size 2” – 5”
Bloom In April, May and June dense clusters of small, funnel-shaped flowers appear. The narrow, yellow throat flares into 5 white lobes. Sometimes the flowers are barely visible.
Interesting Facts Cryptantha is a large genus of the arid West. C. cinerea is one of the most common. In Greek, the word cryptos means hidden and anthos means flower.
