Description Often a clump of many stems.
Mature Size 12" - 32"
Bloom Its flower head is 1" -– 3" long. Its yellow, maroon and/or brown rays are ½" –- ¾" long. Blooms June -– September.
Interesting Facts It resembles traditional broad-rimmed high centered hat worn during Mexican fiestas.
Traditional and Medicinal Uses Research says that it was used as a medicine by the Navajos.
