Description This spindly plant has very narrow opposite leaves. They may be hairy.
Mature Size Up to 2'
Bloom August-September. Usually in clusters of 3 or 4. Can be singular. 2 or 3 tiny pink or white flowers are inside of a greenish, .75", umbrella-shaped involucre. The flowers have no petals. The sepals are united.
Interesting Facts Mirabilis means marvelous in Latin.
Traditional and Medicinal Uses Evidence of prehistoric use of Mirabilis has been found in New Mexico. The leaves are reported to have been used medicinally, although the illness for which they were used is not clear.
