Children’s Holiday Craft Workshop
Sunday, December 2, 1:00-3:00 pm. Free and Open to the public
Genoveva Chavez Community Center
3221 W Rodeo Rd, Santa Fe
This is free hands-on event for children 5-12 years old (all children must be accompanied by an adult). Children “make and take” holiday crafts inspired by nature. This workshop is generously supported by the Mumford Family Foundation.
More about the Workshop
Adult Americans were shocked, confused, and grieving following the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center and The Pentagon. “So must be the children,” thought Joan Maynard, a Board member of the Santa Fe Botanical Garden at the time. Joan then organized the first Children’s Holiday Craft Workshop to bring joy into the lives of the kids of Santa Fe.
As always, it is an opportunity for elementary school age children to make three crafts, all based on natural and botanic materials, for holiday gift giving. It is free to all children, accompanied by an adult, and includes the traditional cookies and lemonade snacks.
All crafts are designed and organized by dedicated SFBG volunteers, many of whom have been on board since the first Workshop. Our mission continues to be bringing holiday joy, and promoting the spirit of giving to the children of Santa Fe.
Bring the children in your life to this creative joyful event. It is fun for the entire family.
