Botanical Garden Grand Opening! July 19-21, 2013
Gala Opening Night Reception, Friday, July 19, 6-8pm

A festive celebration – be the first to view the newly planted Meadow Garden with sculpture by Candyce Garrett. Enjoy strolling troubadours, mariachi – sangria, margaritas and tapas –and sunset over the historic Kearny’s Gap Bridge!

Members Only Day: Saturday, July 20, 9am – 5pm
10am to noon “Grand Opening Program & Ribbon Cutting”
Admission is free to our valued SFBG members. Please bring your friends who are not yet members and we will have memberships available for sale at the front gate. We will feature a day of very special events for families which will include an official ribbon cutting ceremony with local dignitaries, keynote speakers, a truly wondrous “surprise” at the Kearny’s Gap Bridge, refreshments, music, children’s activities and garden tours. Not to be missed!!!
Saturday Children’s Activities
9am-4pm – Passport to the Garden (self-directed)
12 – 2pm – Nature crafts; New Mexico Recycling leads games for kids and family about recycling.
2-4pm – Nature crafts; Museum of Indian Arts and Culture leads a “Seed Balls” activity.

Official Public Opening: Sunday, July 21, 9am – 5pm
This is a day designed to encourage community wide participation in the Santa Fe Botanical Garden on Museum Hill – Savor a program of diverse performances and activities featuring our local arts, dance, music and more. A day of family fun with food, music and scheduled events throughout the garden all day long! Admission free all day for everyone.
Sunday Children’s Activities
10am-4pm – Passport to the Garden (self-directed)
10am – 12pm – Nature crafts; Cornerstone leads activity called, “Bricks and Seed Pods.”
12-2pm – Nature crafts; Santa Fe Community College leads block prints with natural objects activity.
2-4pm – Nature crafts; Sam McCarthy will teach us about “Composting with worms.”

2-2:30pm – New Mexico School of the Arts
